Voting age has always been a problem. In 1971, congress pass down the 26th amendment which change the voting age from 21 to 18 (Here). Before that, voting age minimum was 21, but why was the 26th amendment proposed to the constitution? The reason is simply, the government need younger people to participate or else it wouldn’t be a democracy.
The country system is run by democracy where young people as young as 18 were fighting for the civil war, this is one of the reasons why the 26th amendment were passed down.
What have teenagers done to the country that will give congress a reason to pass down a law that allow teenagers below the age of 18 to vote? None. Teenagers do not have anything backing them up allowing them to vote before the age of 18. Though one could argue that the future of the country depends on the teenagers but teenagers are young and inexperience in many field that allow them to effectively make good decision.
Also, teenagers posses barely nothing for them to actually help the nation. Teenagers are a bunch of young, spoil brats that doesn’t even pay for the tax. Why would the congress allow those good-for-nothing-lazy brats to vote and shape the future of this nation? THEY GOT NO REASON TO. Anyone who is reading this and think that I am wrong? SHOW ME EVIDENCE! Give me evidence that teenagers have actually done something that help shape the future of this nation. No, community services hour does not count because THEY ARE REQUIRE since they allow the young teenagers to experience what the world is like. No, school activity which help benefit the society does not count also because it is the school is helding it and it is part of teenagers job as a citizen to do that kind of stuff.
Overall, Teenagers should not be allow to vote. They lack experience, not a good decision makers, and they really don’t contribute much for the nation to actually allow them to vote.
