The horror of May 13

I used to believe that May 13 is a joke. A horrible joke by those with a strange taste. I never thought that I will believe about curse. I never thought the day will come that forced me to believe this: Today is a curse day. In my whole life, nothing has ever been worse than this. At 6:49 Am, my desktop hard drive local adapter program malfunctioned and a unknown problem surfaced. 7:49 I left my folder containing my homework and head to school. 10:29 A total random question emerge in the familiar math question within the math test. 12:19, had to walk home to get the binder. 2:48 horrible wind and strange turns of event cause my old-school style picked football team to lose the game. 3:19 the desktop still broken. 6:19 desktop still broken, a problem arrived with the back-up laptop charger. 9:40, fixing the charger seem hopeless. This is my day. Nothing has been worser than this day. Horrible day! Glad it all over when I go to sleep... NOT.

Sword Art Online by Reki Kawahara review (3)

Sword Art Online by Reki Kawahara is a light novel in which it have some illustration by Abec. The genre is that of merely a genius programmer made a virtual reality game console and had a hidden plot, or in other word fana. The plot is that during the first day after the game call Sword Art Online, the first virtual reality game is released, ten thousand players bought and entered the game. The twist is that after you log into the game, you are not allowed to log out and if forcefully tried from the real world will result in the player death. Also, if the player die then his outside body will also die and thus result in a real death. The only way to get out of this hell is that the player have to clear a tower which consists of 100 floors. Each floors monster are stronger than average and the boss are extremely tough and required lots of players to kill. The story is about a solo player in that hell, Kirito, and falling in love with Asuna, and the story of them clearing the game and saving everyone while Kirito will forever try to find Asuna.

The rating I would give this light novel is quite similar to another novel call Moonlight Sculptor in which the setting are similar because both stories take place inside a virtual reality games. Sword Art Online elements consist of mostly narration, romance, action, and emotion. The way the narration is told is mostly impressive and is properly the reason why this novel is so good. It take a lot of skills in order to narrate in a way that reveals the emotion of the character and also enable the audience to image what is going on in the action scene. Although illustration by Abec help, Kawahara is mostly impressive to write this light novel with such a powerful uses of words.

Online editing reviews

Billy:
First i would like to say good job, however, I would like to say that you should introduce whats going on in your intro and not having many paragraphs. In your first quote, you introduce a bunch of people. You should at least describe or say what their relationship with X-ray. Also, your 2nd quote CM is kinda short. It doesn't really contribute to your
Karisa:
First I would like to say in your third quote you forgot the " mark at the end. Also, your 2nd and 3rd quote don't really need a block quote. You should only block quote when you have 4 or more lines which 1st quote do but 2nd and 3rd don't which is a problem. Also, introduction to the quote can use some more work such as introducing and transition Sam:
Good job sam for writing it this long. I agree with some of the stuff you say. I think that all of this can be strengthen with some quote. into the quote would help the flow. paragraph.

Book review Draft: Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo

Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo by Obert Skye is a book about the adventure of a teenager. The adventure is a exciting fantasy adventure to read about. The adventure start about with the description of the real world and Foo. Chaos in Foo will results in humans inability to dream and hope and therefore results to the inability to move on for humans. Leven, (aka Lev) has the power to stop this chaos. This is the start of our adventure, with his companion, to save the world. This is the plot of the book. In my review, I will be reviewing on the weaknesses, targeted audience, and a comparison with another fantasy adventure story: Eragon of the Inheritance Triology.

Although this Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo is surprisingly isn't bad at all, however, there are some weaknesses. This book is well written, with plots that is unpredictable and descriptions that seems like it will come alive any moments. Despite those good quality, this book does indeed have some flaws like anything else. This book is written middle school level of vocabulary. This shown that the target audience is at a middle school level in literature. However, in some part of the book although it seem like the target audience is for young teenager, it does feels like it is shifting toward younger children because of pictures. This inconsistency hinder the author ability to do his best jobs in writing the books and thus the picture that I am sure has some other purposes became a hinder for this book. They should remove the picture in the top half of the book and leave this book with just words to feeds the target audience imagination. A picture will only hinder peoples imagination by limiting what they can image. This is indeed a problems for this book, a weakness. Another weaknesses that this book possess is its transition. The beginning of this book transition in a predictable pace. However, the second halve of this book progress in a unpredictable pace. This is a weakness because the author could change the whole book transition into unpredictable. This is a minor weakness that can be easily fix but a weakness is a weakness. I am not trying to say this book is horrible, and in facts this book is unlike the clichéd story in the pasts. Overall, this book weaknesses does not matter as much and does not hinder the book ability to tell the story in a significant rate.

This book targeted audience seems to be young male teenagers. The reasons for this conclusion/prediction is that the main character are fourteen-year old. Authors tend to make their main characters be at the age similar to the target audience. The reason is that when both the target audience and the main character are similar, it is easier for the target audience to relate what has happen to the main character into his life. Also, young teenagers are at the starts of their adolescent ages. Although some knows what they want to do, most remains not knowing what they want to do and usually stick to what they thought is interesting. For most young male teenagers, most are still in the mind set of wanting to go into an adventure. An adventure where they are the hero and wanting to do something like saving the world which is basically what this book is about. This book adventure starts when Lev get tired of his life and want to move on into a more exciting life. Any young teenagers will be able to relate this to their life. I am sure that some can disagree, however, I can confidently say that most young male teenagers are tired of their life and wish for something exciting to happen. I, too, was once in this mind set. This is not uncommon because the transition from a children into a teenager isn't easy. Some may return to their old mind set during this transition. This books is basically targeting those male teenagers that have returned to their old mind set and give them a positive push for their transition. In other word, this book targeted audience is young male teenagers that are in the mind set of wanting something exciting to happen in their life and is tired of their current boring life.

Although this book is good, how would it do if compare with other books in the same genre and targeted audience? I will answer this question by comparing this book with the Inheritance Triology Eragon by Christopher Paolini. In short, Eragon is basically similar to Leven, due to some circumstances, Eragon is forced to go out into a adventure and save the world. But what is different between the two? First, although this isn't a huge problem for Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo, Eragon has more character transition, ah god I forgot the word to use for this at the moment so please bare with me. By character transition I mean by the charactering changing over time. Lev just remains mostly the same throughout the whole books while Eragon has to face dramatic and life-time changes and coping with those things in the real world naturally will make one changes. Christopher Paolini did this very well, however, Obert Skye Lev is pathetic in this scale. It does not mean that the book Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo suck or anything, but it just have very little character transition for the character in comparison with Eragon. In generally, Eragon wouldn't work without that character transition and Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo wouldn't work with the character transition. So they are similar in a way that they are different. This mean that Eragon and Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo has certain things that make them special from the other book. Diversity is always a good thing. Anyways, this conclude my reviews for Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo. Thank you for reading my review.
